For over 100 years, Paillard has been designing and manufacturing bespoke axles for special vehicles across all industrial sectors. Our range covers eight major application families: airport operations, agricultural, construction and public works, railway, handling, defence, leisure and urban vehicles.
Each axle is developed from a precise set of specifications, based on the equipment to be fitted: load capacity, dimensional envelope, braking configuration, steering setup, mounting interfaces. This breadth of expertise, built over the years alongside major French and international industrial players, allows us to meet the most technical requirements as well as the most specific configurations.
An in-house design office to engineer every bespoke axle
Every Paillard bespoke axle project begins with a technical study phase led by our in-house engineering team. Our engineers analyse in depth the constraints of your equipment: type of vehicle, intended use, operating environment, loads to be supported, steering kinematics. This design phase is critical, as it determines the axle’s performance and durability in the field. We work directly with your technical teams to validate dimensions, geometry, braking system, suspension and all mounting interfaces.
Once the design is approved, we produce the drawings, build prototypes if required, and move to manufacturing. This collaborative approach guarantees an axle perfectly integrated into your vehicle, without compromise or subsequent adjustment.
100% French manufacturing under full control from end to end
All our bespoke axles are designed, machined and assembled in our workshops in Vaux-le-Pénil, in the Seine-et-Marne region. This complete mastery of the production chain enables us to guarantee consistent quality at every stage: rigorous selection of raw materials, precision machining, systematic quality control and full traceability of components. Our supply chain is based on 100% European suppliers, which secures our production lead times and ensures the compliance of our axles with the technical and regulatory standards in force.

Axles engineered for every industrial sector
The strength of the Paillard range lies in its ability to cover highly diverse technical universes, each with its own set of demands. For the airport sector, our axles equip tow tractors, cargo loaders, baggage belt loaders and GPU units, with proven resistance to intensive use. For construction and public works, they are integrated into aerial platforms, tunnelling vehicles and heavy site equipment, under particularly severe conditions.
For agriculture, they equip harvesters and towed machinery exposed to high loads and difficult terrain.
