Paillard’s half-axle is designed to equip the specific vehicles and platforms of the defence sector, where chassis integration constraints call for a compact and modular mechanical solution.
With a maximum load capacity of 1,000 kg, it offers a capacity perfectly suited to the everyday rolling equipment used by armed forces: mobile platforms, compact tactical trailers, onboard generators or specialised technical devices. Its half-axle configuration ensures complete independence between the left and right sides of the vehicle, making it the preferred solution for equipment with complex integration requirements or limited dimensional envelopes.
Optimised mechanical integration for constrained platforms
The half-axle format presents a major technical advantage: it fully frees up the central space beneath the vehicle. Where a full rigid axle occupies the entire width under the chassis, the half-axle mounts independently on each side, leaving the central volume available to integrate a driveshaft, a fuel tank, a technical enclosure or any other onboard equipment required for the operation of the vehicle.
This integration flexibility is particularly valuable in the defence sector, where special equipment often combines multiple functions on a single chassis, and where every available centimetre must be optimised to reduce weight, minimise footprint and maximise operational efficiency.
