HOW TO HITCH A TRAILER CORRECTLY?

Date

We’re back with a short series of tips on road trailers and caravans.

To kick off, we will explain to you “how to hitch a trailer properly”!

It is important that the hitching heights for the towing vehicle and the trailer are identical:

1- First of all, the trailer’s tyre pressure must be in accordance with the tyre manufacturer’s recommended pressure

2- Next, the trailer should be loaded, without exceeding the maximum authorised weight (MPLW)

3- Finally, hitch the trailer on an even, flat surface, and check that the hitching heights of the towing vehicle and the trailer match (see attached diagram), to ensure the trailer will run and brake correctly.

We’ll be back next week with more tips!
